If you are considering becoming a PADI instructor chances are you have already fallen in love with diving and the diver lifestyle and we totally understand after all that is why we became PADI instructors. Here at RDC we train our instructor candidates to not only become the best instructors they can be but to be fully prepared for the life of a PADI professional.

The (IDC) Instructor Development Course consists of two parts:

the Assistant Instructor Course (AI) and

the Open Water Scuba Instructor program (OWSI).

Successfully completing the whole IDC program qualifies you to attend the PADI Instructor Examination (IE).

 Additionally, we also offer the Emergency First Responder Instructor course (EFRI) that covers Primary Care, Secondary Care and Care for Children, and it is compulsory for becoming PADI Instructor.

The IDC is great fun as well as a rewarding and unforgettable experience and you will meet people that will likely become lifelong friends.

What are the prerequisites to join an IDC in the Philippines?

  • PADI Divemaster or leadership level with another diver training organization
  • 18 years old
  • 60 logged dives; documented experience in night diving, deep diving and underwater navigation (100 dives to start the IE)
  • Certified diver for six months
  • Medical clearance attesting to dive fitness signed by a physician within the previous 12 months
  • Emergency First Response Primary and Secondary Care course completion (or qualifying training) within the last 24 months

The IE follows both the IDC, the OWSI and Instructor Crossover programs. The IE is staffed exclusively by PADI staff and serves as an independent verification that you are ready to join the ranks of PADI professionals.
